Successful Aging Transition and Its Impact on Self-Rated Health and Life Satisfaction: Findings from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (2006-2018)

Background: The concept of successful aging (SA) is becoming more emphasized. Since this status can change over time, it necessary to evaluate the pattern and its effect on subjective well-being.Methods: In study, participants aged 65 or older in Korean longitudinal study (KLoSA) were divided into four groups based SA (2006-2018), relationships with self-rated health life satisfaction evaluated.Results: Compared non-SA (NSA)→NSA group, odds ratio for positive was 4.30 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.64-11.31) SA→SA 3.92 CI, 1.94-7.95) NSA→SA 1.79 1.28-2.50) SA→NSA group. High 2.42 1.19-4.94) group 2.50 1.36-4.59) group.Conclusions: Maintenance improvements a state has significant association high satisfaction.
